The challenge
Vanessa's Vintage was running on Shopify's older Online Store 1.0 architecture. It worked, but it was increasingly the slow, brittle past, harder to maintain, missing the flexibility and performance of Shopify's modern 2.0 themes, and quietly accumulating security and upkeep risk.
Migrating to 2.0 isn't a button. It means updating themes, plugins and custom code so nothing breaks, addressing compatibility, security and performance risks along the way, and doing all of it without disrupting a live store or changing the experience customers already know.
The brief was a careful upgrade, not a rebuild: move to a modern, maintainable foundation, preserve every bit of existing functionality, come out more secure and faster, and keep the store selling the whole time.
