DevOps and CI/CD Service Scope

Six capabilities. One automated engineering operation.

01

CI pipeline setup

GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, wired to your repo with build, test, and lint stages live in week 1.

02

Continuous deployment

Staging and production pipelines with canary deploys, automated rollback triggers, and zero-downtime release patterns.

03

Infrastructure as code

Terraform or Pulumi to provision and manage all infrastructure. Reproducible environments, no drift, no "it works on my machine."

04

Monitoring and alerting

Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus stack configured with dashboards, SLO tracking, and Slack or PagerDuty alerts on real failures.

05

Container orchestration

Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS), or AWS ECS configured with auto-scaling, health checks, and rolling deployment strategies.

06

Security scanning

Snyk, Trivy, or SonarQube integrated into every pipeline run. Vulnerabilities blocked before they reach staging, not discovered in prod.

The unbroken loop

CI feeds CD.
CD feeds learning.
Always moving.

Automation

Parsons Kellogg is a multi-site retail distributor managing 30+ store locations and over one million inventory items across automated warehouse and fulfillment workflows.

Challenge

Existing systems lacked unified visibility across 30 stores. Manual processes increased workload, limited transparency, and led to delayed responses and uninformed decisions. Operational bottlenecks were preventing revenue growth beyond $14M annually.

Solution delivered

A fully automated digital transformation: unified reporting platform, automated warehouse workflows, real-time inventory tracking, and streamlined operational pipelines across all 30 store locations simultaneously.

  • Automated reporting across 30 locations
  • Real-time warehouse workflow automation
  • Unified inventory management (1M+ items)
  • Faster decision-making via real-time access
Result
$0M

Annual revenue scaled from under $14M to over $90M through automation, unified reporting, and streamlined operations.

Operational efficiency

Automated workflows and real-time access reduced idle response times and operational workload significantly across all locations.

Visibility

Unified transparency and data accuracy across departments enabled faster, better-informed decisions at every level of the operation.

Why Redefine DevOps

What separates a real devops and ci cd agency from a CI script vendor.

Capability
Typical agency approach
Redefine approach
Pipeline scope
Writes CI YAML to your spec, no audit of your deploy risk first
Audits your full stack and deploys before designing a single stage
Rollback strategy
Manual: "ssh in and revert the tag", 20 to 90 minutes of engineer time
Automated: pipeline detects error rate spike, triggers rollback in under 2 minutes
Security integration
Optional add-on. Often skipped to save scope budget
Snyk or Trivy in every pipeline by default, not an upsell
Environment parity
Staging uses different config. "Works in staging" becomes production fire
Terraform provisions identical environments from the same config base
Handoff model
Pipeline is delivered. Docs are a final deliverable, written in a day
Team trained during build, not after. Runbooks written throughout sprints
Monitoring
Alerts on server uptime only. No deploy-correlated metrics
Deploy events correlated to error rate, latency, and apdex in one dashboard
Questions from CTOs

What engineers ask before signing.

Do we need to change our code structure to work with your pipelines?

In most cases, no. We build the pipeline around your existing repo structure, branching strategy, and test setup. Where we do recommend changes (for example, adding a Dockerfile or splitting test commands), we explain the reason and get your approval before making them.

We already have some CI set up. Can you improve what exists rather than rebuild it?

Yes. The audit in Week 1 maps what you already have. We keep what works, replace what is causing pain, and add what is missing. A full rebuild is only recommended when the existing setup would cost more to maintain than to replace.

Which cloud providers do you support?

AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda), GCP (GKE, Cloud Run), and Azure (AKS, Container Apps). We recommend based on your team's existing skills and current provider, not on preference. Multi-cloud and hybrid setups are handled at the enterprise tier.

What happens on handoff day? Does everything fall apart when your team leaves?

Your engineers are trained during the build, not at the end. By Week 5, your team is already merging changes and watching deploys happen. Handoff day is a formality, not a knowledge transfer crisis. A 30-day support window stays open after.

Can you integrate DevOps into an existing Agile sprint process?

Yes. We align to your sprint cadence and work as an embedded DevOps team for the duration. Stand-ups, sprint reviews, and backlog items all map to your existing process. We do not require a separate waterfall-style engagement to run in parallel.

Is this a fit?

Strong fit if…

  • Deployments take more than 30 minutes or require manual steps
  • Your team avoids Friday deploys because of risk
  • You have no automatic rollback or canary strategy
  • Production and staging environments drift apart over time

May not be a fit if…

  • You are pre-MVP with no production environment yet
  • You need a fully managed ops team, not pipeline setup

Not sure? Tell us your deploy setup and we will be direct with you.
