The listing optimization problem

Listings that look healthy are quietly draining ad spend

Your title looks fine. Your images look clean. Your bullets read well. But your conversion rate is lower than your category average, and your ad budget keeps climbing to cover the gap. The problem is almost never what buyers see. It is what the algorithm reads.

"Every listing we audited had backend keyword fields that were either empty, duplicated, or stuffed with terms that competed against the front-end copy. The buyer never sees it. The algorithm does."

What the audit covers

89 checks. Every field on your Amazon listing, front and back.

Each check is scored as critical, high, medium, or informational. The fix roadmap puts your highest-revenue fixes first, not your easiest ones or your most visible ones.

What you receive

A scored report, not a list of problems

Every finding in the audit includes the issue, the severity rating, the specific field or location on the listing, and the recommended fix. Your team receives a document they can execute against directly, not a summary that requires further investigation.

  • Severity-scored across 89 checks so your team knows which fixes to make this week and which to schedule
  • Fix roadmap ordered by estimated impact on conversion rate and keyword rank
  • Per-ASIN breakdown and cross-catalog pattern summary for multi-ASIN audits

Your title is the highest-weight field in Amazon's search algorithm. Every character matters. This section checks keyword placement, character count, category compliance, prohibited terms, and whether your primary keyword appears in the first 80 characters where it influences both ranking and click-through rate on mobile search results.

Primary keyword position in title
Category character limit compliance
Prohibited punctuation and symbols
Keyword cannibalization with siblings
Brand name format and placement
Long-tail keyword presence

Bullets are read by buyers before they make a purchase decision. This section audits whether each bullet leads with an outcome, whether your five bullets collectively answer the top five pre-purchase questions for your category, and whether you have used all available character space without exceeding Amazon's per-bullet limits.

Benefit-first versus feature-first framing
Character limit utilization
Category-specific coverage
Secondary keyword inclusion

Images and A+ content are what buyers actually look at before deciding. This section audits your main image compliance, secondary image sequence logic, image count, infographic quality, lifestyle-to-product ratio, and whether your A+ content modules align with your listing copy rather than contradicting it.

Backend fields are invisible to buyers but directly influence organic rank. This section audits your 250-byte search terms field for duplication, category compliance, keyword coverage gaps, and whether high-value long-tail terms from your campaign data appear here but not in your visible copy.

Amazon suppresses listings for policy violations that sellers are often unaware of until the suppression happens. This section audits your listing for prohibited claims, review-incentive language, comparative advertising violations, category-specific compliance requirements, and hazmat or restricted product flags.

Why Redefine

Other agencies run a tool and send you a PDF. This is different.

89 checks, not a generic checklist

Generic audit tools scan visible fields and call it done. Our audit covers 89 specific checks, including backend fields most tools cannot read, category-specific compliance rules that change by item type, and keyword gaps found by comparing your listing to the actual search terms driving traffic in your category today.

Fix roadmap ordered by revenue impact, not by category

Most audit reports group findings by type: title issues, image issues, keyword issues. Logical, but wrong for prioritization. We order every fix by its estimated impact on your conversion rate and organic rank. Your team works on the highest-revenue fix first, not the most convenient one.

5 business days. Not 3 weeks.

Amazon's competitive landscape shifts daily. A listing audit that takes three weeks to arrive is three weeks of lost rank and revenue. We deliver the full 89-point scored report and fix roadmap in 5 business days from your onboarding submission. Faster audit, faster fixes, faster results.

Listing specialists, not generalists

The team that audits your listing also implements listing optimization, runs Amazon PPC, and builds Amazon Brand Stores. Every recommendation comes from someone who has made the same fix on dozens of active listings. Not someone who ran your ASIN through a tool and screenshotted the output.

Common questions

Answered before you ask

Audits are scoped by ASIN count. You can audit a single ASIN, a 5-ASIN sample of your top revenue products, or your full catalog. For brands with 50 or more ASINs, we recommend the 5-ASIN sample first. It surfaces the problem patterns that almost always repeat across the rest of your catalog. The fix roadmap from a sample audit applies to the full catalog. See Amazon Audit Pricing for current rates by tier.

The audit delivers findings and a fix roadmap. Implementation is scoped separately. The roadmap gives your team everything needed to execute independently: what to change, in what order, and why. If you want Redefine to implement after the audit, the audit fee is applied to the optimization quote. You pay for one, not two.

For the full 89-point audit, we need view-only access to your Seller Central account. We use the minimum permissions required and remove access when the report is delivered. If you prefer not to share access, a front-end audit covers approximately 60 of the 89 checks. The 29 backend checks cover fields hidden from buyers but critical to organic rank. Those fields are where most suppression and rank issues originate.

Automated tools check whether fields exist. They do not evaluate quality. A tool will flag that you have five bullet points, but it cannot tell you whether any of them addresses the top pre-purchase question in your category. Our audit applies category-specific benchmarks and Amazon's current ranking signals to every check. The fix roadmap is written for your specific listing.

Start with a full audit, then run a lighter refresh at six months after implementing the first round of fixes. Amazon's algorithm and category compliance rules shift regularly. Listings optimized a year ago have gaps today. If you run Sponsored Products campaigns, your search term report generates new high-converting keywords every 90 days. Those keywords belong in your listing copy, not just your ad groups.
