Why deliverability fails

Your reputation is leaking. Most teams don't know until revenue does too.

Email marketer reviewing recovered Klaviyo deliverability metrics at desk, side light, late afternoon
The default setup

Without a deliverability audit

  • Shared sending IPs accumulating spam complaints from other senders
  • Missing or misconfigured DKIM and DMARC allowing spoofing flags
  • Stale and unengaged contacts pulling your sender score down every send
  • Flows sending to unverified segments triggering Gmail bulk sender rules
  • Open rates declining with no visibility into why or where emails are landing
  • Revenue reports showing flat email performance blamed on content, not delivery
After Redefine deliverability service

With proper sending infrastructure

  • Dedicated sending domain with clean IP warm-up protecting your reputation
  • SPF, DKIM, and DMARC fully configured and verified for all sending domains
  • Suppression lists cleaned, list hygiene automated, engagement scoring active
  • Flows sending only to engaged segments with sunset policies enforced
  • Real-time inbox placement monitoring with alerting on any metric movement
  • Email becomes a predictable, attributable revenue channel again

What this costs you

A list of 50,000 subscribers with 82% inbox placement means 9,000 contacts never see your campaigns. At a 2% conversion rate and $45 average order value, that is $8,100 in invisible revenue loss per send.

The process

From audit to inbox in under two weeks

We access your Klaviyo account, run the audit, and implement fixes. You review results. Your team stays out of the technical work entirely.

1

Day 1

Access and baseline

You share read access to Klaviyo. We pull your sending history, domain configuration, list health, and last 90 days of performance data to establish the baseline.

2

Days 2 to 4

Full deliverability audit

DNS records, sending infrastructure, flow segments, suppression coverage, bounce and complaint patterns: every layer examined and scored with a priority fix list.

3

Days 5 to 10

Implement and verify

Your DNS is updated, Klaviyo account is reconfigured, lists are cleaned, and flows are updated. We verify each fix against placement test inboxes before marking it complete.

4

Ongoing

Monitor and report

Monthly health reports, real-time spike alerts, and quarterly placement re-tests keep your sending reputation clean as your list and flow library grows.

Proof

What proper deliverability infrastructure delivers

Ecommerce ops team reviewing Klaviyo deliverability dashboard, morning light, collaborative forward lean

Gameday Gear

Headless Ecommerce

Sports merchandise brand running a headless Shopify storefront: high order volume, highly engaged audience, and no reliable email infrastructure to match.

The problem

Customer behavior and conversion events were inconsistently synced to Klaviyo. Domain authentication was incomplete, resulting in unreliable tracking and limited personalization. Email performance was leaving a major channel underutilized despite strong product demand.

What we delivered

Complete Klaviyo implementation: account configuration, sending infrastructure setup, domain authentication across all sending domains, and custom backend APIs connecting the headless frontend directly with Klaviyo using server-side event tracking.

  • Full domain authentication setup and verification
  • Custom server-side event API integration
  • Ongoing deliverability performance monitoring

Questions

Real reasons people hesitate

Open rates are measured against delivered emails, not sent emails. If 15% of your list is reaching spam folders, those contacts never open, never count, and never show up in your rate. Open rates can look healthy while inbox placement quietly erodes. The audit measures placement directly, not inferred from open data.

SPF and DKIM are necessary but not sufficient. Gmail and Yahoo now require DMARC at enforcement level for bulk senders. Klaviyo also uses its own sending subdomain, which creates a separate authentication path that needs to be configured correctly alongside your root domain setup. Stale sending domain keys, shared IP history, and growing suppression gaps all affect placement independently of your initial authentication setup.

We request Manager-level access to Klaviyo for the duration of the engagement. We also need DNS access or coordination with whoever manages your domain records: usually a 10-minute task with your development team or hosting provider. We document every change before making it, and provide a full change log at close. You can revoke access at any time.

Short-term send volume may be reduced during the IP warm-up phase, which typically lasts 10 to 14 days. During this window, we phase sends to engaged segments first, which protects your reputation and usually improves open rates even mid-warm-up. The first clean campaign after warm-up typically shows the strongest placement performance we measure for that account.

Content and design do affect spam filtering: heavy image-to-text ratios, certain HTML patterns, and specific word clusters all influence placement. Our audit includes a content hygiene review. If we find that content is the primary driver, we document it clearly in the findings and can scope content optimisation as a separate workstream. You will not receive a deliverability fix recommendation when the real issue is copy.

Is this right for you?

Is this service the right fit?

Good fit

This service is right for you if

  • Your Klaviyo open rates have declined over the past 90 days without a content change
  • You are launching a new sending domain or recently migrated your Klaviyo account
  • You run a headless storefront with custom event tracking that is not fully synced to Klaviyo
  • Email contributes less than 30% of revenue and you want to know why
Not a fit right now

This service is probably not right if

  • You have fewer than 5,000 subscribers: standard Klaviyo defaults handle this range well
  • You are not yet sending regular campaigns and do not have 90 days of Klaviyo send history to audit
  • Your primary need is email creative or flow strategy rather than infrastructure
