Kits and bundles software

Product bundling software that reserves inventory the moment a buyer configures a kit

Redefine is product bundling software that pulls live product specs from your Product Information Management system and commits inventory in your native order management system the instant a kit is configured. No spreadsheets. No oversell. No kit complexity that breaks at scale.

Why kit management breaks down

The old way oversells kits and leaves ops teams scrambling

Manual kit pricing process
  • Kit specs maintained in spreadsheets, out of sync with live catalog
  • Inventory reserved at checkout only, so oversell happens regularly
  • New hire kit templates updated manually in every store when a product changes
  • Bundle discounts require coupon codes or manual repricing per order

Every oversold kit is a fulfillment crisis your ops team absorbs manually

How it works

From kit template to reserved inventory in one configured step

Every kit or bundle follows a single connected flow inside the product bundling software. Click any node to see exactly what happens at that stage.

1
Kit template defined
Admin sets fixed and configurable items
2
Product Information Management data pulled live
Product specs sync from Product Information Management in real time
3

Selects configurable options, pricing updates live
4
Order management system reserves inventory
Native order management system commits stock before order is placed
5
Order confirmed and fulfilled
Kit order flows to fulfillment, no manual intervention

Kit template definition

Admins define which items are fixed (always included) and which are configurable (buyer chooses from approved options). Templates are reusable across multiple stores with no duplication.

Live Product Information Management data sync

Product specifications, descriptions, materials, and attributes are pulled directly from your Product Information Management system. When a product spec changes in Product Information Management, every kit that references it updates automatically with no admin action required.

Buyer kit configuration

The storefront displays configurable options with live stock availability. As buyers make selections, the kit price and bundle discount update in real time. Only in-stock options are presented.

Order management system inventory reservation

The native order management system reserves all component inventory the instant a kit is configured, not at checkout. This eliminates oversell before any payment is processed. Reservations expire on session timeout and are automatically released.

Order confirmed and fulfilled

On checkout, the kit order is confirmed with all component details, pricing, and bundle discounts captured. Fulfillment picks components individually or as an assembled kit depending on your program configuration.

Key capabilities

Every capability your package builder software needs

Bundle builder software with fixed and configurable items

Mix fixed items (always included) with configurable items (buyer selects from approved options) in the same kit. This bundle builder software lets admins control which items are locked and which offer choice. Changes to the kit definition apply across all stores using that template.

Unlimited items per kit with individual quantities
Option sets: size, color, style, and custom attributes
Reusable templates across any number of stores
No developer involvement for template changes

New hire and welcome kit management

HR or ops teams configure new hire kit templates once. The store handles collection, sizing, and fulfillment. Connect to your human resources information system for automatic kit dispatch on hire events.

Trigger kit orders from human resources information system hire events
New hire enters preferences, kit ships to home address
Budget controls limit kit value per employee tier

Bundled pricing and kit-level discounts

Set percentage or fixed discounts at the kit level with package builder software. Discounts apply automatically when a kit is configured, visible to the buyer in real time during selection. No coupon codes, no manual repricing.

Tiered bundle discounts based on kit quantity
Account-specific or store-specific pricing rules
Discount displayed live during configuration

Live Product Information Management data with order management system inventory reservation

The only package builder software that uses live Product Information Management data for product specs and reserves inventory in the native order management system upon configuration. This is the differentiator that eliminates oversell and keeps product data current across every kit, every store, every time.

Product bundle app with artificial intelligence-powered dynamic bundling

The product bundle app generates personalized product bundles per buyer or account based on purchase history, catalog behavior, and segment data. Artificial intelligence suggests bundles that convert. Admins approve before they go live.

Best-fit use cases

Built for every kit and bundle program type

HR teams: zero manual kit management

Your people ops team defines new hire kit templates once. When a hire event fires in your human resources information system, the kit is dispatched automatically. The new hire receives a link to choose configurable items (size, color) and enters their shipping address. No email chains. No spreadsheet tracking. No ops involvement per kit.

Why Redefine wins on kits and bundles

Program-store tools stop at the store. Redefine connects Product Information Management, order management system, and artificial intelligence.

Redefine runs product bundling software on the same platform as your business-to-business commerce, Product Information Management, marketplace, and order management.

Frequently asked questions

Questions buyers ask before evaluating kits and bundles software

The moment a buyer selects all required options and finalizes a kit configuration, Redefine's native order management system places a hold on each component stock-keeping unit. This hold is created before the buyer reaches checkout. If the buyer's session expires without completing the order, the reservation is automatically released and inventory becomes available again. This means oversell is prevented before any payment is attempted, not as a post-checkout correction step.

Yes. Kit templates can be shared across stores or scoped to a specific store. Product branding, logo variants, and configurable options can be set at the template level with store-specific overrides. You manage one master template and deploy it with visual customizations per store without duplicating configuration work.

Yes. Because the kit builder uses live Product Information Management data, a product spec change in Product Information Management propagates to every kit template that references that product within the next sync cycle (typically under 60 seconds). Admins do not need to update kit configurations manually when product details change. This is one of the key differences between a purpose-built platform and a bolted-together tool stack.

No. The kit builder is an admin-managed interface. Ops, merchandising, and program managers create and modify kit templates without development involvement. Adding items, setting configurable options, defining pricing rules, and deploying templates to stores are all admin actions. Developer resources are only required for custom integrations outside the platform's native connection layer.

Bundle discount rules are applied as a percentage of the kit total or a fixed amount. When component prices change (for example a supplier price update flowing from Product Information Management), the kit's subtotal recalculates and the discount rule applies against the new base. The buyer always sees the current discounted price. Admins are notified when a price change causes a kit's final price to move outside configured thresholds.

Is this a good fit?

This module fits some programs well and some it does not

Good fit for your program if:
  • You manage new hire or onboarding kits with configurable items (size, color, style)
  • You run multiple stores where the same kit templates should apply with store-specific overrides
  • Oversell on kit components is a current operational pain point
  • Your product catalog is managed in a Product Information Management system and kit specs need to stay current without manual re-entry
  • You want ecommerce bundle software where discounts apply automatically without coupon codes or pricing workarounds
May not be a fit if:
  • You only need simple pre-built bundles with no configurable options and your current tool handles that well
  • You run a single small store with a handful of stock-keeping units and spreadsheet management is not a burden
  • Your kit program does not have a Product Information Management system and you are not planning to introduce one in the next 12 months
